In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
Ephesians 2:21 NIV
It is expected for us to be in one with God when we come to know Christ.
In being one with God we become one as a body in Christ. We are no longer looked at as the arm, the feet, the neck or better yet the head but a body.
God knew what he was doing when he no longer saw the Gentiles who serve him as uncircumcised or the Jews as circumcised but all who come to know him and serve him together we become one in him.
Sometimes all we need is a reminder that in this walk with Christ, it is not about us but it is about what God wants to do in us. When we live a surrendered life, we cannot boast in our ways but to boast in God that it is he who has saved us and not we ourselves, that we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. The scripture is powerful in itself that it cuts down every ego and high thoughts of the flesh. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
The next time we begin to push aside someone because of their ways, character, thoughts, personalities or even the sins they have committed. Remember All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. Ephesians 2:3
Now that we become reconciled to God. Consider your neighbours that they too need to belong under one body. Do not cast aside the feet, because the feet is also needed for the body to be effective in Christ Jesus. It is not by our works that we are saved but it is by Grace which is the ultimate gift of God.
The battles of disunity is not ours, it is the Lord’s but Christ who operates in us requires us to confront what may seem to be a problem to the body, confront it being still in fight, as the Lord contends on all matters that contends against his works or his people.
