Mental effects of abuse:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (P.T.S.D.), including flashbacks, nightmares, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts
Depression, including prolonged sadness
Low self-esteem and questioning sense of self
Suicidal thoughts or attempts
Alcohol or drug overdose
